The Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory (NDTL) focuses on new technologies that are of direct relevance to an array of public and private collaborators, customers, and sponsors. Our collaborators have been instrumental in the development of the NDTL Ignition Park facility in South Bend, IN, USA. NDTL is the nation’s foremost research and testing facility for a wide range of applications that involve turbomachinery technology. Equipped with capabilities for the development of rotating machinery that requires high power levels and related specialized support, NDTL studies and tests components of gas turbine engines and other industrial equipment. This research aims to benefit the development of commercial and military aircraft, power plants, and the oil and gas industries.
